Things are looking up in your life, getting better day by day. its a pretty Friday morning, you go to grab something at the Harley shop (or shop of your choice) and get a text message, bad accident on 295, avoid the area. You don't think much of it since you are not going that way. Grab what you were there for its about 9:00. Drive home, and its time for work. You sit down and hear the news, SUV rolled over 3 dead, 5 in critical condition, Ed White students going to the beach. You think, god I hope none of them are my son's friends. get on the phone with your spouse to find out he tried to call as well.
An hour goes by, no news.... leave another message.... no answer...
At 2 hours, I have called the hospitals for them to tell me no he isn't there, called the school they said no....
At 3 hours, I am trying to be calm but he hasn't called back yet.... I call the hospitals again... then the school... I get a hold of someone at the school explain that my son hasn't called and I am very concerned. Give her his name, please make sure he is there, I said, I want to be sure he wasn't in the accident. She asked me his name, and stated "he is not one of the kids on my list" Deep sigh... thank you, he must just have his phone off.... I called my husband told him what I found out, both of us thankful its not our son, prayers said for the other families. Go through our day, feeling saddened by the accident but breathing a sigh of relief......
